The Carrows are even stupider than I thought them to be. The display in Dark Arts was revolting. It was one thing to watch Jones try to perform the a cruciatus on Finnigan. That was about establishing power over the students, bending them to your will. Letting Goyle and Crabbe have at it was another thing altogether.

    [Emily]

I wasn't threatening Robins although Merlin knows she deserves it for her stupidity in provoking those in authority.

    [Lisa]

I heard about fifth year DA. How is your sister faring?

    The silence suits my mood.
    The echoes of fading footsteps
    Resonate in my heart.
Or where my heart should be.

Now it seems to be an empty chamber
    That I try to fill.
    And fail.
    Miserably.

    [Sophia]

May I ask you a question?

I should've known better when Lucy wanted to stay here for the holiday. This entire secret romance with Bletchley has been a mistake. One I should have put a stop to. And now. Sneaking into Bletchley's dorm at an hour when she should not have been. And then staying. Unacceptable. Lisa and I never

You will not take advantage of my cousin again. Have I made myself clear?

    She rips my heart out
    And, smiling politely,
    While the blood drips,
Asks if I expected anything different.

    I stand mutely,
    In front of her,
    Watching the beating slow,
And wonder if I'll ever learn.

    [Sophia]

Do you have any plans today?

Everything is finally as it should have been nearly three years ago. And if the circumstances are less than ideal, I'm not going to concern myself with that. Make the most of any situation, just like Dad always says.

    [Ravenclaw]

Abide by the rules and we won't have any problems.

    [Padma]

I look forward to working with you.

Thankfully, Valentine's Day is done and now we can move onto more important things...like Quidditch. Even though Ravenclaw isn't playing, I'm hoping to see a good match tomorrow.

    [Warded to Sophia]

While I don't know exactly what the Carrows were thinking, I hope I wasn't a horrible dinner companion last evening.

    [Warded to Lisa]

Did you have a nice evening with Kirke?

Alright, I've made a second attempt. Let me know what you think.

When she stops to speak to me,
hope flutters like the golden snitch.
Is this finally the day she sees?
    But the conversation is mundane
And short and about shoes nothing.
    Finally she looks through me,
And I am left with the sting
    of the rogue bludger,
    crashing into my chest.

    [Warded Private]

I really don't think I can write any more of this drivel.

I really hope this works. Otherwise, I've wasted a week in the library with poetry books and rhyming dictionaries.

    [Warded to Sophia]

The poetry book you sent for my birthday must have inspired me. I wanted you to be the first to see.

    It's not so much that
    she doesn't know I exist.
It's as if she doesn't care.
I wish my heart would desist
    In its fruitless wish
    of her wanting me.
    I try to reason
Like the Ravenclaw I aim to be
    But it's no use.
    I want her
    And she doesn't see me.

    Well? Be honest.

    [Warded Private]

Another bloody poem? Is she serious?

Hooves are too good for Finnigan. What the bloody hell was he thinking, hurling hexes at fellow students? Lisa Someone could have been hurt even more badly than Tracey was.

    [Lisa]

    Are you alright?

This is why you need to take Dueling Club seriously.

    Bugger it.

I heard what happened last night. Are you alright?

    [Theodore]

Last night's events were quite serious. What's going to be done about it?

Well, the corridors are certainly loads quieter in the evenings. I quite enjoy it.

    [Warded to Emrys Bletchley]

If you hurt my cousin, her father finding out will be the least of your worries.

Lucy says that you treat her properly. Please ensure that continues.

    [Warded to Sophia Fawcett]

I read through the poetry book you gave me. And I actually enjoyed some of them. The author's views on love, however, are quite different from my own. In my experience, love's been like a bludger hitting me in the head, knocking me from my broom, and leaving me crumpled on the ground. Maybe I ought to write poetry, too?

    [Warded Private]

Theodore's inquiry has got me thinking. I'm not entirely certain why a deranged Muggleborn would attack the Macdougals. While they might be pure, they don't espouse the right sort of attitude. Unless Morag is the exception in the family. Although I can't imagine the family tolerating her if she was of a different mindset.

Last night, hearing the Grey Lady's tale of woe has only cemented my position that love should have absolutely nothing to do with relationships. First and foremost, make a good match.

    [Warded to the IS]

Too many students, especially since we've been back from break, have had the unmitigated gall to question the rules as they have been set forth by the administration of this school. As IS members, it is our job to root out problems where we see them. To that end, I've already assigned Robins detention. I know that a few of you have done the same when you've seen inappropriate statements. If the troublemakers who plastered up posters and switched the tables see that some students openly support them, you can only imagine the chaos that will follow.

And I, for one, will not be held accountable for others' cheek. Or punished for it.

Back to school tomorrow. I'd have to say that the highlight of my holidays was meeting members of the Magpies. Dad arranged it for my birthday. It was wicked.

    [Sophia]

Thank you for the birthday gift. I'm not entirely certain about poetry, but, for you, I will give it a go. I hope that my own owl didn't upset your birthday plans too greatly.

    [Susan]

I was hoping to see you at Greg's party. I trust your break has been enjoyable.

Why in the bloody hell didn't I cancel that order? I certainly don't want it, but if I give it to her, she won't accept it. She's made that perfectly clear.

Have you finished your part of this blasted project yet? The less time we have to spend together, the better.

    [Warded Private]

Macdougal might be a pureblood, but she's definitely not the right sort. She deserves everything she gets for inviting Goldstein to the gala.

All this talk about proper breeding! It's as bad as being home. For everything she says, Professor Carrow might as well be Aunt Euphemia. Good matches, proper blood. I had that nightmare dream again. The one where I bring home Lisa someone unsuitable and Mum tells me how disappointed in me she is. I really hope that I didn't shout anything in my sleep. Those wankers in the dorm do NOT need to know anything that's going on in my personal life.

I suppose I'll need to find a date. Just to get Carrow off my back. Shame I can't ask who I'd like to ask. She's got all the qualitites I could ask for: good family, intelligent, good looking even if she is a bit too athletic for my taste.

    [Theodore]

    Have you asked Lucy yet?

    [Private Again]

Why the bloody hell not? You only live once, right? And it's for one night. Plus, I can do a bit of reconnaissance.

    [Susan]

You're likely to have an escort to the gala by now. But, in the event you do not, I would be honored to escort you. Please consider it.

Well, I hope we all found this afternoon's excursion enlightening. I'd advise anyone who's still holding onto contraband to rid yourself of it immediately. Or you might find yourself part of the pyre next time.

    [Private]

Books. Muggle books. But books nonetheless.

She seemed pleased about the knight.
